"I became interested in photography as a young boy while watching my father, an avid photographer, process black and white images in our basement lab.

I have spent over thirty years in the graphics industry and six years ago, opened Silk Hope Photography, a successful wedding and portrait photography business in Charlotte NC. My interest in portraiture has been supplemented by fine art still life photography and printing of fine art images.

&page5text=<B>Assistant/Photographer</B> - My wife Brenda is my assistant and second photographer.  She has an excellent eye for detail and helps to make sure we are in the right place at the right time!  She has a real knack  for keeping 
nervous Brides and Moms comfortable and has several years experience as a wedding director at our church. Bottom line is that you have two photographers to help document your wedding day!

<B>Style</B> - I think it proper to say that my style is documentary in nature. We like to start the day two hours before 
the ceremony begins and continue on through the reception. Except for a few posed formals after the ceremony, we usually stay out of the way and let your special day unfold.  We might gently suggest you hold hands or smile from time to time but it's OK if you ignore us.

<B>Color or Black and White</B> - With todays digital technology, it is not a problem to have either.  Color, Black and White, and Sepia tones are all available options.

<B>Customer Service</B> - I have spent many years in sales and management and believe that service is not only essential but critical.  My wife and I work together to help make you feel comfortable.  You are the most important person and other than photographing your wedding, our next job is to be of maximum service to you, your family, and your guests.

<B>Our studio</B> - Portraits, engagement sessions, and consultations can be done in the privacy of our studio if you like.  We are located in the Cedar Street Design Center at 623 S. Cedar Street just behind Panther Stadium.  In addition, we have found some beautiful locations in the Charlotte area and are happy to make suggestions for outdoor portrait sessions.

<B>Equipment</B> - Experience has shown that having backup equipment is absolutely necessary.  The day is much too important for you and your family and a lost opportunity due to equipment failure can never be replaced.

<B>Travel</B> - We are available to travel anywhere in the Carolinas.  In some cases overnight accommodations might be necessary.  All we need is a little gas money and a clean place to stay.  This can be negotiated and included in the wedding package.

<B>Dress</B> - We consider it an honor to be photographing your special event, we dress as if we are your guests.

<B>Packages and Pricing</B> -  Our packages are guide lines only, choose one if you wish.  We will be happy to customize a package to suit your needs.
